Paloma Cocktail Recipe
In the spirit of sharing the Giggles, we’re including the cocktail recipe for one of our Spring Sips – the fabulous Paloma – so you can enjoy recreating it at home. The Paloma is a long time Mexican favourite which has suddenly become the cocktail on everyone’s lips. To make a classic Paloma, you must include these three core ingredients – tequila, lime juice and grapefruit. With a sweet-sour hit, a dash of saltiness and bitter hint (much like the flavours of Thai food!), it’s made for sunnier days. And we love its pretty sunset shade of pinks and yellows.
Ingredients:
- 50ml El Sueno Tequila Gold
- 25ml grapefruit juice
- 12.5ml lime juice
- 15ml maple syrup / honey /Agave
- 50ml London Essence Pink Grapefruit Soda
We’ve listed the ingredients we use in our Giggling Squid restaurants but feel free to substitute with your favourite brands.
Method:
First, chill your highball glass. In a shaker, add the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and whichever sweetener you’re using (honey, maple syrup or agave). Give it a good shake and then pour through a small strainer into your chilled glass. Top with pink grapefruit soda – we’re using London Essence Pink Grapefruit Soda as we love the flavour profile. Finish with a theatrical flourish and garnish of a sprig of mint and a fine wedge of fresh grapefruit. Sip and savour.
